Concept explanation from the author of the exhibition Anastasia Litvak
The entire exhibition is devoted to women’s rights and their position in society. Paintings depict the problem of wartime when a woman is left alone, and her man goes to war. It shows a widow as a global explanation of why at this moment a woman becomes the main unit of society: she is overloaded in everyday life and she also takes on her shoulders all responsibilities.
For example, this painting depicts a female body that is often not approved by society, and a man who tried to hide her female body as if it were something shameful.
